As explained on the previous page, a copy of your blueprint will be kept during the build stage. However this is only as good as your last sync, and if you hit sync after making a mistake, this is likely to result in the loss of your work in the copy.

Some other safety features to make you aware of:

1. When you remove content from a Canvas units menu, that doesn't actually delete it - it should remain in the Pages area of Canvas despite not appearing in the Units (and can be added back to the Units)

2. If content is deleted from the Pages area, in some cases this can be reversed - please contact us if you'd like us to try this for you.

3. There are two versions of Canvas in the background (the test and the beta) from which we could possibly restore content, if the timing is right (they take snapshots/copies of Canvas content at fixed points of time)

4. You also have the option to either duplicate most types of content within Canvas, e.g. pages and units (this makes an extra copy in the same module) or use 'copy to' to send them to another module (you can use your Sandbox for this). Using these methods effectively enables you to 'save' work beyond the blueprint copy. Duplicates can also be very useful if you're attempting a complex edit - you can then delete the duplicate when it's no longer needed, or revert to it if you need to).

Optional task

If you haven't already done so, try duplicating an item from a units menu, then removing the duplicate.

Hint: if you two pages ever have exactly the same name, ultimately you might need to permanently delete one of them from the pages menu after removing it from the units menu - this is because Canvas will rename one of them).

Extra: if you have editing rights to a Canvas module in addition to your sandbox, try using the 'copy to' function to copy some content into your sandbox.
